What Is Laser Dentistry?

Our lasers, referred to as "cold lasers," are used for biostimulation. This reduces swelling and inflammation, open the lymph system for drainage, stimulates or speeds up healing of trauma and infection problems, re-activates sluggish or inactive cells, and transforms stem cells into what is needed in the treatment area, just to name a few of its uses.

Our Erbium and Neodymium lasers are used by Dr. Lee to precisely remove hard and soft tissue to aid in gum disease treatment, root canal therapy, and even the treatment of other lesions and oral malformations. These lasers can also be set into non-cutting modes to warm tissues, resulting in the formation of new collagen to tighten and firm-specific areas for facial cosmetics, snoring and sleep apnea problems, and rejuvenating aging or diseased body tissues.

Some of the trademarked techniques which Dr. Lee performs are: PIPS for root canals, WPT for gum disease surgery, SmoothLase & LipLase (Dr. Harvey Shiffman's trademark) for rejuvenating face and lip collagen to de-age and enhance your appearance, and NightLase® for snoring and sleep apnea problems.

Cold Laser Treatment

Cold laser therapy utilizes low-intensity lasers to help stimulate healing and reduce pain. It’s safe, non-invasive, and can be used to help minimize pain caused by TMJ disorder or following dental procedures that result in post-operative discomfort or inflammation, like tooth extractions.

SmoothLase Facial Rejuvenation

Our LightWalker dental laser allows us to offer a virtually pain-free, minimally invasive solution to reducing the appearance of uneven skin tones and fine lines and wrinkles. Additionally, because the treatment takes place within the mouth, you won’t have to worry about redness, peeling, inflammation, or other highly noticeable side-effects. The process is completed over the course of three 30-minute appointments that are two weeks apart, and much like LipLase, acts to restore youthful features by stimulating collagen production for fuller facial features.

If you’re unsatisfied with the lack of volume in your lips, LipLase is a non-invasive way to make them appear fuller and more luscious without having to endure any injections. The Fotona laser offers a SMOOTH® modality that helps stimulate collagen production within the deepest layers of the skin. Naturally, this results in fuller lips, all without any needles or a lengthy recovery time.

NightLase® for Snoring & Sleep Apnea Treatment

Fotona NightLase therapy offers a non-invasive treatment for patients who experience chronic snoring and sleep apnea. The process takes place over the course of three treatment sessions and six weeks, with results that can last up to a year. Using a very gentle laser light, Dr. Lee will reduce airway blockage by tightening the tongue and soft palate tissue. This leads to less intense snoring and reduces symptoms of sleep apnea, allowing both you and your partner to get a better night’s rest.
